Huna, which means "secret," teaches that man is composed of three separate and independent units of consciousness which make use of the physical body during life. However, many of the concepts were preserved in the remote islands of Polynesia and have been recovered, in part, during the past century. Unfortunately outside influences ultimately contaminated the original beliefs and the system became lost. This system, which eventually spread throughout the world, has influenced the basic beliefs of all modern religions. Otha Wingo, Director Huna Research, Inc.Ĥ INTRODUCTION Huna: The Ancient Religion of Positive Thinking presents in logical steps the basic concepts of an ancient secret system of "Positive Thinking" which has been traced back to early Egypt. After reading this fascinating introduction to the Huna approach to creative prayer, examine the Bibliography for suggestions for further study. "When I found I didn't get a point across very well," he said, "I modified the talk and then used the new lecture on the next group. Using Max's taped lectures, Bill began to rework them for presentation to his classes on positive thinking. His quest for a reasonable philosophy of life led him to an interest in the writings of Max Freedom Long. "Bill" Glover, a builder of yachts in southern California, had investigated the religious beliefs of the many countries he had visited in his wide travels. The students have the advantage of all of MFL's writings as well as their own experiences, and their insights add to our understanding and ability to use Huna effectively. In addition to the basic texts written during Max Freedom Long's fifty years of research and experimentation with Huna, there is a growing number of important books written by Huna students and practitioners. As psychology, it is practical and effective as religion it is a simple, yet complete Way of Life.
